Hello, I’m Dan,

About Dan | Experienced Therapist in Hackney, East London

a Cognitive Analytic Therapist (CAT) with specialized training in EMDR and MBT, boasting over two decades of experience helping adults navigate through a spectrum of mental health and emotional challenges in both NHS and private practice.

My journey commenced as a mental health social worker, driven by a fervent commitment to empower individuals in understanding and enhancing their mental health and wellbeing. This passion led me to advanced training in psychological therapy, specializing in supporting those facing significant struggles. Throughout my career, I've contributed my expertise to esteemed NHS psychotherapy services such as the Tavistock and Portman NHS Trust and Hackney Psychotherapy service, in addition to diverse mental health services.

I hold qualifications as a Cognitive Analytic Therapist and Supervisor accredited by ACAT and am a registered member of the BACP. Additionally, I have specialist EMDR training and am a kite-marked MBT practitioner accredited by the British Psychoanalytic Council. I carry full indemnity insurance. With a robust skill set and a commitment to tailored care, I'm dedicated to providing professional, compassionate therapy designed to meet your unique needs.

WHAT ABOUT CONFIDENTIALITY

Everything that we discuss in our sessions is confidential. As part of my professional practice I have regular supervision and will discuss our work with my supervisor from time to time. However, I will not disclose your name or anything that would identify you. I do not communicate with your GP or others without your permission or knowledge. However, if I am particularly concerned about risk to you or someone else, we will discuss together how to access the right support for you and this may involve your GP if appropriate. I keep brief notes and personal information for my records but these are stored securely electronically and follow GDPR rules and regulations.

How does it all work?
